76% of Economists STILL Bet on Recession Dodge

Welcome to F*ck The Fed đź’° Dive deep into the Federal Reserve with us every day.

A recent survey by the National Association for Business Economics suggests a positive economic outlook for the U.S. in 2024.

The survey revealed that only 24% of economists foresee a recession, despite concerns about the job market and high interest rates. This optimism hinges on the Federal Reserve's ability to maintain a delicate balance of slowing the economy to control inflation while not stifling growth.

Optimism hinging on the Fed’s ability to balance… Anyone else getting “inflation is transitory” PTSD all over again?

The Federal Reserve has raised its main interest rate to over 5.25%, the highest it's been since the early 2000s and THE most rapid interest rate hiking campaign in HISTORY.

This move, while intended to slow inflation, has not significantly impacted the job market (yet), which has remained robust with a low 3.9% unemployment rate in October.

Economists predict a continued slowdown in inflation into 2024. However, they assert that consumer prices will not recede to pre-2021 levels without a reversal in price increases.

Opinions differ on when the Federal Reserve may start to cut interest rates.

Overall, economists indicate cautious optimism for the U.S. economy's ability to avoid a recession next year.

It all depends on the Federal Reserve's adept management of inflation and interest rates.
